For Thanksgiving 29 of us met up in Fort Wayne, IN to stay with Audrey and Tyler. It was a PARTY and included all 15 grand kids on the Flake side. We missed Sam, Carson, Ryan and Jess!
I have to admit, at 8 months pregnant I wasn't super excited about the drive but Abigail did AWESOME!! We were so grateful! We left first thing the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and headed to Columbus to pick up Darl's brother Collin, his wife Jessi and cute 6 week old Landon.
The following are pictures from my phone, I haven't downloaded the ones from our camera yet.
Gma and Gpa Flake gave Abigail the stuffed cougar and she loves it!! She even says the word 'cougar'. She also loves her books. Here she is reading during the car ride:
Cute girl. I tried to get a picture of her with both her hands behind her head, but I was too slow.
We got to Columbus and Collin gave us a tour of The Ohio State Law School, where he recently started his first year. We then drove through down town Columbus. After, we went to dinner at Skyline Chili. Since they recently moved there and it was their first time they got their dinner for free, and since we were the ones that brought them we got a free plate:) (we'd been before in Cincinnati when we visited my sister Lisa and her family a few years ago).
After dinner we left for Fort Wayne about 2.5hours away. I don't have pictures, but we got there after 10pm and I think between being in the car all day and with all the kids Abigail was a little overwhelmed.
We had a great Thanksgiving weekend and I didn't take nearly enough pictures!! Audrey made sure we had plenty of great food to eat!!! (which was doubly amazing since she is due with her third 2 days after me). The guys played football, we saw some Amish country...it was lots of fun!
Here is Abigail playing with her cousins James and Jillian.
Darl peeling potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner:)
We stayed at Tyler's parents house, which was super because we all fit! In the basement there was lots for the kids to do. (this is a zoomed in picture so its really fuzzy). Here is Darl entertaining Jillian and Abigail on the keyboard. Jillian is about 5 months older than Abigail. They were pretty cute together. Abigail LOVED playing with her cousins.
As you can see, Dallan is thrilled to be entertaining many of the grand kids on his ipad;).
And the reason Darl's parents really wanted us all together at Thanksgiving, they got to be with all of their 15 grandkids!!! This isn't the best picture (Darl took better ones on our camera) but I think Abigail's face is great. Not sure what she is so excited about.
Pile of grand kids and gma and gpa. Abigail might have been crying at this point, it was bed time and she was done.
The Sunday after Thanksgiving we went home and there was serious traffic getting on and off the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The traffic added about 2.5hours to out drive, but Abigail still did pretty well and we were so happy we could go!! We had a great time!
