The Beach!

We wanted to make sure we made it to the beach one more time before we moved. I keep telling Darl the lakes in Minnesota have beaches but for some reason he says that doesn't count;). After not being able to go due to sick kids and bad weather, we went this past Saturday to Ocean City, Maryland! We just have iphone pictures to document this trip.

Abigail got excited every time we drove over a bridge, which happened quite frequently.

I looked back and saw her like this-cool kid with her sunglasses:

My cute girl:

The men in the family hanging out in the shade. A few years ago Darl bought us a big beach umbrella from Costco for $20. Money totally well spent!! We will use this camping, swimming, etc. for years to come.

Cute little man:

Abigail was a little hesitant with the water at first but very quickly decided she was a huge fan.

We found free parking close to the beach just a little further down then we've been before and it was totally worth it. Not as crazy crowded as it's been in the past.

Not sure if I will ever have a picture with my kids where we are all looking and smiling at the camera.

Ethan's first time in the ocean! Unlike Abigail, who was 3 months old when we took her to the Ocean, a big wave did not hit him and totally soak him.

He thinks it might be a good thing:

Happy dude! And doesn't it look like we packed a ton for the beach? It certainly feels that way anytime we go somewhere with our kids:)

Abigail LOVED the sand and the water. She did not want to stop playing in the water even when she was shivering. She kept saying, "water? More water?".

She was also a fan of the sand:

I was quite impressed how she literally had sand in her hair and everywhere within minutes of getting there.

No, it was not cold but I had to walk around to get him to sleep and didn't want him to get burned.

Even when I edit this picture, rotate it and save it it's still showing up sideways...Ethan's sun shirt dyed him blue! He's the newest smurf or member of the Blue Man group. He's still deciding..

I think this is how we all felt on the drive home. Both of the kids were asleep within minutes:
It was a super day at the beach! The weather was hot and sunny but not horribly so and the water was cold but fun to be in. We are so happy we got to go one more time before moving.
